Jessica de Boer beeldhouwt met natuurlijke processen. Om dieper liggende lagen van de fysische werkelijkheid boven water te krijgen creëert zij een transparant systeem met een minimum aantal variabelen en zo min mogelijk interfererende omgevingsfactoren. Twee verschillende dode materialen die allebei beantwoorden aan een fundamentele wet komen met elkaar in fysiek contact zodat een spontane beweging ontstaat. Het natuurproces voltrekt zich autonoom, het proces is niet te regisseren en controleren. Haar installaties geven een suggestie van leven.
